WHY USE A BROKER

Why use a business
finance broker?

Each lender assesses businesses differently. Comparing lenders and presenting your business clearly can make a real difference to the options available.

More lenders to compare

We compare options from major banks and specialist business lenders, not just one bank’s products.

Policies that fit how you earn

Some lenders accept business bank statements or alternative documents for self-employed borrowers who meet their criteria.

One person, start to finish

You deal directly with Richard. No handovers between staff, and one point of contact through to settlement.

Less time on paperwork

We prepare the application and manage it with the lender, so you can stay focused on running your business.

KNOW YOUR NUMBERS

Plan repayments
around cash flow.

The right loan term and structure keeps repayments comfortable through quieter months. We look at your cash flow cycle before recommending a loan.

Rates, fees and terms vary widely between business lenders, so comparing the total cost matters as much as the repayment.

  • Loan term matched to the asset’s life
  • Secured or unsecured options
  • Establishment and ongoing fees
  • Early repayment terms

Secured or
unsecured?

Whether a loan is secured affects the rate, the amount you can borrow and what’s at risk. We explain the trade-offs before you choose.

HOW LENDERS ASSESS YOU

Show lenders the full picture.

Lenders look at your business income, profitability, existing debts, available security and time trading. Each applies different policies, so the same business can get very different answers.

We present your financials clearly and match you with lenders whose criteria suit your business.

SECURED LOANS

Backed by an asset

Secured against property, equipment or vehicles. Usually lower rates and higher limits.

If repayments aren’t met, the lender can take the security.

UNSECURED LOANS

No asset required

Faster to arrange and no property at risk, but rates are usually higher and limits lower.

Lenders often ask for a personal guarantee from directors.

Rates, fees and lending criteria vary between lenders and can change. Speak with your accountant about tax and GST on business finance.

Let’s compare your options. We’ll look at your business and show which structures could work.

HOW MUCH CAN YOU BORROW?

What lenders look at
for business loans.

Borrowing limits depend on your business and the lender’s criteria. These are the main factors.

01 / YOUR INCOME

Revenue and profit

Business income and profitability show your capacity to repay.

02 / YOUR COMMITMENTS

Existing debts

Current business and personal loans, leases and credit limits are counted.

03 / YOUR SECURITY

Available security

Property, equipment or vehicles can support a larger loan at a lower rate.

04 / YOUR DOCUMENTS

Financial records

Financial statements and tax returns, or business bank statements with some lenders.

THE RIGHT STRUCTURE MATTERS

Business loan types
we can help with.

The right product depends on what you’re funding and how your cash flows. We compare options across our lender panel.

GROWTH

Business term loans

A lump sum for expansion, fit-outs or acquisitions, repaid over a set term.

ASSETS

Equipment and vehicle finance

Funding for machinery, tools or vehicles, often secured against the asset itself.

CASH FLOW

Lines of credit and overdrafts

Draw funds as needed to manage seasonal or day-to-day cash flow.

PREMISES

Commercial property loans

Buy your own premises or an investment property for the business.

Refinancing business debt or consolidating several facilities into one? We’ll compare the costs and benefits.

LET’S CLEAR THINGS UP

Business loans.
Real questions.

The questions we’re asked most about business finance. Your business is unique, so we’re happy to talk through the detail.

Ask about my business
What can a business loan be used for?

Equipment and vehicles, cash flow, expansion, commercial property, refinancing business debt, fit-outs or buying another business. We match the loan to what you’re funding.

How much can my business borrow?

It depends on your business income, profitability, existing debts, available security and the lender’s criteria. Lenders differ, so comparing several gives you a clearer picture.

Can I get a business loan if I’m self-employed?

Yes. We regularly help sole traders, contractors and company directors. Depending on the lender, you may apply with financial statements, tax returns or business bank statements.

Do I need security for a business loan?

Not always. Unsecured loans are available, usually at higher rates and lower limits. Secured loans use property, equipment or vehicles and often come with better pricing. Directors may be asked for a personal guarantee.

What documents will I need?

Usually ID, recent financial statements, tax returns, BAS and business bank statements, plus details of existing debts. Requirements vary by lender and loan size.

Why use a broker instead of going to a bank?

A bank offers its own products. We compare options from major banks and specialist lenders, and manage the application for you, with Richard as your single point of contact.

LET’S MAKE A START
